How Dr. Swati Turned Hospital Shifts and Nonstop Travel Into 20 Pounds Lost and Serious Strength Gains

Skinny Arms, Skinny Legs, and a Midsection That Told a Different Story

Swati wasn’t new to putting in work. Before KMAK, her routine included OrangeTheory, weight training, and cardio, and she’d even tracked macros on her own. She knew the basics. What she didn’t have was consistency, especially with a schedule that had her traveling constantly for both work and life.

She describes her body at the time as skinny fat. Her arms and legs looked lean, but she was holding onto weight in her midsection and back that she couldn’t seem to shake no matter what she tried. She felt stuck watching effort go in without her body composition ever really changing.

The Confidence She Was Actually Chasing

Swati wasn’t chasing a specific number. Her goal was to lose weight, look leaner and more toned, and get to a place where she could wear a bikini without feeling self-conscious about it.

“To be more self confident in my body and my clothes.”

That was the goal underneath the goal. Not a scale number, but the ability to actually feel like herself again in what she wore, on vacation and in everyday life.

Two Months of Travel and a Scrub Size She Wouldn’t Buy

In a span of about two months, Swati traveled to India, Disney World, London, and South Africa. Between the flights, the time changes, and being away from her normal routine, eating well and getting to the gym consistently became nearly impossible. She’d started at around 120 pounds, and by the end of that stretch of travel, she’d put on 20 pounds, uncomfortable in her workout clothes and, just as pressing, in her medical scrubs.

The moment it actually hit her wasn’t a mirror moment. It was standing there needing a bigger scrub size and refusing to buy it. That refusal is what pushed her to finally make a change instead of adjusting around the problem.

20 Pounds Down and Comfortable in Her Clothes Again

Working with Kunal, Swati lost the 20 pounds she’d gained and then some, getting leaner and more toned than she’d been in years. She fits comfortably into her workout gear and her scrubs again, and she’s built a body composition she’s actually proud of, not just one that’s a few pounds lighter on paper.

What Changed Wasn’t the Knowledge, It Was the Consistency

Swati already understood macros before she started. What she never had was a way to actually stay consistent with them, especially through a travel schedule that rarely let up. Through Kunal’s programming, she finally built the structure to keep tracking and training even when life got hectic, instead of starting over every time a trip threw her off.

Consistency On a Doctor’s Schedule

Between long shifts as a hematologist/oncologist and a personal life that kept her on planes, Swati didn’t have the luxury of a predictable week. Kunal’s programs gave her something she could actually follow regardless of time zone or hospital schedule, and that structure is what finally let her results catch up to the effort she’d already been putting in for years.

Traveling Without Losing the Progress

Swati still travels often, including a recent trip to New York, but she no longer lets it undo months of work. Her approach is moderation rather than restriction. If she really wants dessert, she’ll skip the glass of wine instead. On the road, her focus stays on getting her steps in and prioritizing protein-heavy meals so she hits her daily targets even when the rest of the day is unpredictable. She still enjoys the local food and culture wherever she is. She just makes sure she’s back on track the moment she’s home.

Chasing Two Plates

Swati’s strongest lift right now is the hip thrust, sitting between 80 and 85 pounds on each side, for a total of around 160 pounds. Her next target is 90 pounds per side, or two full plates. It’s a clear, specific marker of how far her strength has come since she started, and one she’s actively working toward.

Her Advice to Anyone Waiting for the Right Time

Swati is candid about the fact that conditions are rarely perfect. Her advice is to start anyway, even with a packed schedule or a life that involves constant travel.

“Just start even if conditions aren’t perfect. Progress takes time and won’t happen overnight, but I’m glad I stuck with it.”
