When Niya Amin first joined KMAK Fitness, her goals were clear. She wanted to lose 30 pounds, build a toned physique, improve her endurance, and most importantly, improve her overall health.

 

At 157 pounds, Niya was also thinking about more than just the scale. Her blood work showed areas she wanted to improve, including cholesterol markers and blood sugar levels. As a pharmacist, she understood how important long term health was, and she wanted to bring her BMI into a healthier range while improving her lipid panel and overall fitness.

 

But Niya’s motivation ran deeper than numbers.

 

As a mother of two boys, she wanted to become the healthiest and happiest version of herself so she could set a powerful example for her family. Growing up in a South Asian household where health and fitness were not always prioritized, she wanted to become the cycle breaker and show her children what it looks like to invest in your health.

Trying Everything but Still Feeling Stuck

 

Like many people, Niya had tried different approaches before joining the program. She experimented with intermittent fasting, keto, cardio routines, and group fitness classes. While she occasionally lost weight, the results never lasted.

On top of that, life was already full.

 

Niya was balancing a demanding full time career as a pharmacist while raising two young boys. One of the most powerful shifts in her journey was recognizing her relationship with food. In the past, she often used food as a coping mechanism during stressful or emotional moments. Through the program, she developed healthier ways to regulate those emotions.

 

Instead of turning to food, she began using tools like walking, journaling, and listening to music to process stress and reset her mindset. These small but meaningful habits helped her build emotional resilience and better control over her choices.

What started as a goal to lose 25 to 30 pounds quickly turned into something far greater. By the end of her journey, Niya had lost 46 pounds and completely transformed her health.

 

Her doctor was so surprised by the improvements in her weight and blood work that they initially questioned whether she had used medication. But the results were simply the product of consistent habits, structured coaching, and long term lifestyle changes.

As a vegetarian, Niya also proved that meeting protein goals and building strength was absolutely achievable. By expanding her cooking repertoire and experimenting with different plant based protein sources, she was able to hit her nutrition targets while still enjoying her cultural foods.

 

When Healthy Habits Become Your Identity

 

Over time, the habits that once required effort became second nature.

 

Meal prepping, training, and prioritizing her health were no longer things she had to force herself to do. They became identity level behaviors that were simply part of who she is.

 

After 54 weeks of consistent work, Niya celebrated her journey with a KMAK photoshoot, marking not just a physical transformation but a complete shift in her mindset, habits, and lifestyle.

Niya’s Advice for Anyone Waiting for the Perfect Time

 

Today, Niya’s biggest message to others is simple.

 

There is never a perfect time to start.

 

Life will always be busy. Work will always be demanding. Family responsibilities will always exist. Waiting for the perfect moment only delays the change you want to create.

 

Her advice is to start anyway, even if it feels messy.

 

Because as Niya proved, when you commit to building real habits and a sustainable lifestyle, the results can change far more than just the number on the scale. They can change your health, your confidence, and the example you set for the people who matter most.
